Born in Tasmania (Small island state of Australia), the adventurous and ambitious spirit that seems to be true of many smaller island’s is very much in my veins. College and University in Tasmania and then ventured Overseas as I was lucky enough to be semi-professional at cricket which allowed me to travel to England, Ireland and Spain to both play the sport but also widen my horizons in terms of culture and experiences. Spent early years playing teams sports – cricket and soccer and wasn’t until I started my professional career with Asics that I found Triathlon or triathlon found me. Progressing from runner, getting back on the bike after not riding since I was a child and also breaking the swimming cobwebs and like most I quickly become hooked on the sport, but ore so the community and stories within the sport. From Asics I have always been involved in sport in a professional manner – sales, marketing, product management, media, not for profit has all revolved around sport, mainly because of the positive impact I feel it can have on people, rather than just physical well being but community, mental and social also. My current role as CMO at 2XU seems to be the culmination of both professional and personal experiences – having the opportunity to create a platform that allows more and more people to live a healthier, fitter live through whatever sport or activity they choose. Telling stories, creating communities and trying to have some fun along the way.
